Lucca Pompani
was born in Spadafora, Sicily. He was born to one of the wealthiest
families in Sicily, who had made their fortune with the manufacturing
of olive oil. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.
When Lucca was just a little boy his father was sent away after having
some trouble with a member of the Salina family; he found shelter in
Venezuela.
With the absence of his father, Lucca spent his childhood and youth
surrounded by his siblings and cousins under the wing of his grandfather,
il padrino Giuseppe Pompani. He always admired his grandfather and the
way he had of dealing with the family and the business. His mother was
not of much influence on him.
Lucca left his home at 18 and went to study industrial engineering to
the University of Rome, where he graduated cum laude. Of course he went
back to Spadafora and married one of the Salina girls, which made his
power in the zone greater and took over the administration of the family
business. Lucca still lives in the Palazzo
and is now the head of the family.
